THE KYM PURLING TRIO (20 Year Reunion) 8pm, Saturday January 5, 2013 Doors open 7pm, limited seating The Promethean 116 Grote Street Adelaide SA 5000 08 8212 0266 US-based pianist, composer and conductor Kym Purling is an Adelaide boy and back in town presenting one concert only. The show will feature Purling's former trio which he started 22 years ago with his former college mates - bassist Tim Bowen and drummer Ben Riley. Since 1998, Purling has lived in Las Vegas, New York City, Florida and currently resides in Los Angeles. He has established two careers, one as a jazz pianist in his own right, the other as a musical director, conductor and pianist for Broadway shows and for some of the biggest names in the business such as Engelbert Humperdink and Natalie Cole. Purling has received extensive media interest appearing in newspapers, magazines and television all over the world and has now performed in over 70 countries around the world. This is a concert not to be missed as the trio present some improvised arrangements and dust off some of the old tunes they used to play when frequenting the local Adelaide scene many years ago.
